Marketing Faculty Tenure-Track Positions

Junior tenure-track Marketing faculty position openings (assistant professor/associate professor without indefinite tenure levels) at the Carnegie Mellon University Tepper School of Business, commencing September 1, 2009, for candidates with Ph.D. (or near completion of doctorate).

The applicant is expected to have a demonstrated potential for, or history of, outstanding research and strong teaching skills. Candidates with behavioral, analytical, or quantitative expertise are encouraged to apply. Teaching assignments encompass graduate and undergraduate programs. Full-Time Teaching Position in Business Management Communication

Primary professional responsibilities: teaching in Tepper’s Masters and Undergraduate programs and service to the Tepper Business School and the wider Carnegie Mellon University community.  Teaching will focus on business and management communications in both written and oral practices. Full-time teaching-track candidate (at assistant or associate teaching professor level) will teach 8 units per year, equivalent to four semester-long courses. Starting date: Fall/August 2008 or Spring/January 2009

Salary: Commensurate with academic preparation and professional experience.

Academic Qualifications: Ph.D. in business communications or related discipline (e.g., English, Rhetoric, Communication Studies, etc.). ABD candidates may be considered if degree is to be completed at the time of appointment. The successful candidate will be expected to work cooperatively with faculty and staff in the school and be able to communicate and work effectively with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Candidates must demonstrate a potential for and commitment to teaching excellence. Candidates with prior business communications teaching and additional business experience and/or coursework at the MBA level are preferred.
