Reunion Giving

2008 Tepper reunion weekendAsk any Tepper alums who descend on campus each year for Reunion weekend and they will continually tell you of the fun, excitement and joy at rekindling old relationships amongst their Tepper classmates.

Maximizing alumni participation in the Tepper Annual Fund is a primary goal of our reunion giving program as there is an amazing impact found in the power of collective giving.

Making a gift in recognition of your reunion year is a simple and easy way to show pride in being a Tepper alum, and also generates friendly competition amongst the classes. Some alumni also traditionally increase their support during Reunion years, including a symbolic amount reflecting the number of years since graduation. For others, it means becoming a first-time member of the W.L. Mellon Society.

2009 Reunion Giving Challenge

First of all, be sure to mark your calendars for the weekend of October 23-24, 2009, when the Tepper School will celebrate reunion weekend. Note: this is one weekend prior to the University’s Homecoming weekend (which in 2009 also happens to be Halloween weekend).

2008 Tepper reunion weekendClasses celebrating special reunions that weekend will be 2004 – 5th Year; 1999 – 10th Year; 1994 – 15th Year; 1989 – 20th Year; 1979 – 30th Year; 1974 – 35th Year; 1969 – 40th Year; 1964 – 45th Year; and 1959 – 50th Year. The class of 1984 (25th Year) will celebrate their reunion on the weekend of April 24-25, 2009.

The 2009 Tepper School reunion giving challenge will run from January 1-October 19, 2009. All gifts and payments received by October 19, and allocated to the Tepper School of Business, will count toward this friendly contest and the winning class will be announced and recognized during the Reunion Weekend activities.

How do you make your gift to the reunion challenge? It’s simple. Just make your gift as normal. We’ll add up the numbers on October 20 and see who wins. Please note that the reunion challenge spans parts of two fiscal years (our fiscal year runs July 1-June 30). Therefore, please be sure to make your fiscal year 2009 gift by June 30, 2009. However, we also encourage you to consider making your fiscal year 2010 gift by October 19, 2009, so that it, too, can count toward the reunion challenge tally.

In the instance where someone has both an undergraduate and graduate Tepper School degrees, the gift will be credited toward the graduate degree year for purposes of this challenge. Should someone have both a master’s and a Ph.D. from the Tepper School, the gift also will be credited toward the master’s degree year for purposes of this challenge.
