Steve was named by GE to the newly created role of Executive Director, Global Innovation and New Models in June 2012, reporting to Beth Comstock, GE Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer. To quote Beth “Steve’s enthusiasm for Innovation is infectious.” He leads GE’s marketing and technical team’s efforts to build break-through customer offerings, especially in advanced services, software, and analytics. Steve and his team connect activities across GE’s vast portfolio with our new Software and Services Councils, Imagination Breakthroughs and Innovation Accelerators. He is charged with establishing strong relationships with outside experts and communities specializing in cutting edge global innovation activities. The goal is to quickly leverage all these capabilities to support innovative service and app launches that clearly position GE as the leader in the exciting new “Industrial Internet “space.
Prior to this role Steve served as GE’s Executive Director-Global Marketing where he led the creation of GE’s “Gold Standard” Marketing vision that leverages best-in- class marketing across the firm. He successfully introduced new initiatives including Differentiated Value Proposition (DVP) and the Commercial Innovation Architecture.
Steve co-authored the Harvard Business Review article “Unleashing the Power of Marketing”, which features GE’s Gold Standard. He has been a guest lecturer at a number of leading universities and conferences and has been recognized as a top marketer by leading industry publications such as Brand Week and Advertising Age. Liguori joined GE in 2005 as GE Capital’s Senior Vice President, Marketing for GE Money-Americas and CEO, GE Money Services. Prior to GE he had significant senior marketing and general management experience for premier organizations such as Morgan Stanley, Citigroup, PepsiCo and Kraft Foods. Steve holds an MBA from the University of Southern California and a bachelor’s degree from Cornell University. He is married with three children.
