General Information

The ceremony for PhD, MSCF and MBA students will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2:00 PM at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Museum in Oakland. (Note that the larger ceremony for the entire university is on the following day, Sunday May 18). The ceremony will last until approximately 4:00 PM and there will be a post-ceremony reception immediately following for graduates and their guests directly outside of the hall (in the foyer if it rains).

 Just a reminder, if you haven't yet made hotel or dinner reservations for your family, you may want to do so quickly. Students should begin arriving at 1:00 PM.

Guest seating will begin at approximately 1:25 PM. The ceremony begins promptly at 2:00 p.m.

Guests with special needs

  • Those guests with special needs will be seated first in designated areas. Please email the Masters Programs Staff by May 14, if you will have guests who will require special seating or accommodations.

No tickets are needed

  • By using the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall, we have eliminated the need for tickets, however, we need students to be considerate and practical. Last year the average group size was 3-6 adult guests.
