2008-09 Suggested Lenders

We have developed a list of participating Federal Stafford, Federal Graduate Plus and Private Education loan lenders for students who would like guidance in selecting loans and the lender/s. Our selections were made in the best interest of the Carnegie Mellon University, Tepper School of Business student profile in accordance with federal regulations and institutional policies. The suggested lenders uphold the utmost integrity, responsibility and best customer service practices. Our selection criteria includes lenders that offer non-existent or the lowest upfront fees accompanied with additional benefits which include, but are not limited to, beneficial back-end benefits and the option for interest rate reduction when taking advantage of auto debit with any bank (in almost all cases). Our ultimate goal is to promote and encourage responsible borrowing and repayment options that best suit the Carnegie Mellon University, Tepper School of Business students.  

We encourage you to compare borrower benefits offered by any participating lender before deciding which lender to use. While we suggest the lenders below, you may choose any participating lender for the Federal Stafford, Graduate Plus and Private Education loans*.  

*PLEASE NOTE: If you choose a different Federal Stafford or Graduate Plus lender, it is important to note that you must complete the Online Student Loan Entrance & Exit Counseling.

Our suggested lenders are broken out specifically for the Federal Stafford, Federal Graduate Plus and Private Education participating loan lenders. They are listed in alpha order on our website. When selecting Federal Stafford and Graduate Plus online at AES, the lender selection option will be rotated daily.
