Yahoo! Hack Pitch
The Business and Technology Club is hosting Yahoo! Hack Pitch on October 9-10, 2008.
This unique competition teams up Tepper MBA students with CMU hackers to innovate new ideas for the web. The team is responsible for developing a business plan and hack a working prototype in 24 hours.
Hack Pitch Awards:
- 1st prize: $5,000
- 2nd prize: $2,500
- 3rd prize: $1,000
- Prizes will be awarded for Overall Hack Pitch + Hack. The prize amounts mentioned above are separate from the "Hack U" prizes.
- Prize money will be distributed equally between the team members.
Rules:
- The hack starts on Thursday, October 9th at 4:00pm (Newell Simon 3305).
- The "Hack Pitch" powerpoint deck will be due Friday, October 10th at 4:00pm - the same time as the official non-pitch Hacks are due.
- The business pitch should be limited to 7 minutes and is accompanied by 6 slides discussing the various aspects of the business plan. There will be an additional 5 minutes for Q&A.
- The Hack Pitch team will be composed of hackers and two Tepper MBAs. (No restriction on the number of hackers in a team.)
- Powerpoint decks should be emailed to Kiran Surapaneni. Name the file as "HackPitch_TeamName" and the email subject should mention "Hack Pitch Deck - Team Name".
Hackers:
- You can compete in both the Hack U and Hack Pitch competitions at the same time. Checkout the Facebook event to learn more about Hack U.

Sign-up:
- Email Kiran Surapaneni to participate or to find teammates (Hackers, MBAs).
- Registration details should include team name and the following details for each team member: Name, Andrew ID, School, Degree, Major, Graduation Year.
- You will need to have both hackers and MBA students to RSVP your team.
- Please note that 3-2 students are considered MBA students.
