Apprenticeship

The Entrepreneurship and Venture Capital Club has been working hard to create an opportunity for students to learn about the responsibilities of a venture capitalist. Through the Due Diligence apprenticeship program, interested Tepper students can be a part of a Due Diligence team. The team, captained by a student who has worked on a previous project in the program, is assigned a potential portfolio company to research for a local investor group.

The experience, including meeting with the investor, the entrepreneur, and doing the leg work to analyze the company’s prospects, is a unique opportunity to participate in the due diligence process. This can involve the analysis of market, technology, competitors, and/or finances, as requested by the investors. The EVC Due Diligence program is a one of a kind experience for anyone considering a career in VC, private equity, investment, entrepreneurship, or anyone interested in starting a company.

Since 2006, the EVC Due Diligence program has helped to evaluate and finalize investments in partnership with Pittsburgh's Blue Tree Allied Angels. The EVC is working to expand the program by partnering with additional venture firms in the region. For more information or to participate in the program, please contact the EVC's VP of Apprenticeship, Chris Bell.
