The Donald H. Jones Center for Entrepreneurship completed its first full year of teaching the Qatar Executive Entrepreneurship Certificate Program in May 2008, and the program's capstone event was the inaugural Carnegie Mellon Qatar New Venture Competition.
The New Venture Competition was organized by Carnegie Mellon University, Doha, to give the participants in the Qatar Executive Entrepreneurship Certificate Program a chance to present their business plans and possibly earn prize money for their ventures.
"We're excited about the entire certificate program, and this venture competition will become an excellent way to expose these entrepreneurs to the venture capital process," said Arthur A. Boni (Jones Center director).
Clinipharma, an asthma-treatment venture, took first place in the May 2008 competition.
