Retired Chairman and CEO, American Express Company
Harvey Golub is the Chairman of Miller Buckfire and has served on the firm’s Board of Advisors since 2004. Previously, Harvey was the CEO and Chairman of American Express until his retirement in 2001.
Harvey joined American Express in 1983 as President and Chief Executive Officer of IDS Financial Services (now known as Ameriprise Financial). In 1990, he was named Vice Chairman of American Express and subsequently elected Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board. Prior to joining IDS, Harvey was a Director with McKinsey & Co., where he worked on strategy and organizational issues for a number of corporations.
Harvey currently serves on the Board of Dynasty Financial Partners, LLC. Harvey is also Chairman of the Advisory Board of Kleinwort Benson Investors International Ltd., and serves as a member of the Advisory Board of Marblegate Asset Management, LLC. In the past, he served as Non-Executive Chairman of the Board of American International Group (AIG), Campbell Soup Company, and The Reader’s Digest Association. He has also served as a member of the Board of Dow Jones & Company and RHJI International and several private companies.
In addition, Harvey serves on the Boards of the American Enterprise Institute for Public Policy Research and New York-Presbyterian Hospital. He is a Director Emeritus and member of the Investment Committee of the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts.
Harvey received a B.S. degree from New York University.
