Ed Stack, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Dick’s Sporting Goods since 1984, leads the largest, full-service sporting goods retailer in the country. He has led this Fortune 500 Corporation through a remarkable period of growth from just two stores in upstate New York to 530 Dick’s Sporting Good’s stores, 81 Golf Galaxy stores in 44 states and two relatively new concepts, Field & Stream and TrueRunner.
Mr. Stack’s recognitions and awards include: 1997, “Sports Executive Visionary of the Year,” Sports Style Magazine; “Entrepreneur of the Year in Southwestern Pennsylvania,” Ernst & Young; 2005, “History Makers Award for Business & Industry,” Heinz History Center; 2006, induction into National Sporting Goods Association Hall of Fame.
Mr. Stack graduated from St. John Fisher College in 1977 with a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
Mr. Stack serves on the Board of Directors of the National Retail Federation and the Greater Pittsburgh Chamber of Commerce, as well as the Advisory Board of Wharton’s Jay H. Baker Retailing Initiative.
