Inger Daniels received her BS from the University of Florida where she majored in mathematics with an actuarial science concentration. She continued her education at the University of Virginia, where she earned an MS in mathematics and will graduate with a Ph.D. in mathematics in May 2008. Her research at UVa involved investigating existence and uniqueness of solutions to a coupled system of partial differential equations used in structural acoustic scenarios. This work has been published in the Journal of Discrete and Continuous Dynamical Systems. While pursuing her Ph.D., she served as a Calculus and introductory level Financial Mathematics instructor. Also while enrolled at UVa, Inger completed an internship in the Financial Institutions Group at SNL Financial, a Charlottesville, VA based financial data and analytics company. Upon graduation, Inger plans to apply mathematics to problems in product specific or firm wide risk management. In her spare time, Inger enjoys skiing and reading crime novels. |
| Eliot Deutsch graduated in 2007 from Yeshiva University’s Jay and Jeanie Schottenstein Honors Program in New York City, where he earned a BS degree in Mathematics and Economics. While an undergraduate student, he took part in a nanoscience research initiative at Brookhaven National Laboratories focusing on improving fuel cell efficiency. Prior to that, he interned with the U. S, Government at the Department of Housing and Urban Development where he assessed various methods of identifying duplicate records in a large database of loans. Additionally, Eliot completed an undergraduate thesis in mathematics, in which he explored necessary conditions to ensure positive solutions to the Minkowski differential equation. After interning last summer with Citigroup Global Markets, Eliot joined the MSCF program to train for a career in quantitative finance. He currently lives with his wife on Long Island and enjoys a good game of basketball whenever he gets the chance. |

Yan Du graduated with a Master of International Economics degree with honors from Fudan University after completing a bachelor’s degree in Economics where she was the top student in Economics and selected as the Chairperson of the Forum of the Economic Society. During her time at Fudan, Yan completed internships with Citibank, UBS and Siemens. After graduation from Fudan, she joined Xiangcai Securities,an ABN AMRO affiliate. There, she was involved in in Sales & Trading desk where, as a Sales Trader, she helped ABN invest $175 million and $75 million respectively in Chinese markets, Yan subsequently joined Haitong Securities, the 2nd largest listed brokerage house in China, where she was involved in trading various products and provided investment suggestions to clients and the internal sales force. Upon completion of the MSCF program, Yan hopes to secure a position in a trading or structuring capacity in a top investment bank. In her spare time, Yan enjoys traveling, jogging, and playing music. |
| Jiaer Fei graduated with a BS in Information and Computing Science from Zhejiang University City College, where he was the valedictorian of the school, President of the Student Association and ranked 1st in the department. Jiaer also earned his MS in Mathematics at Zhejiang University, and received two fellowships for being the top 1% student of the school and province. In 2006, Jiaer was part of the first class prize in the American Mathematical Contest in Modeling. Jiaer worked for Peak Capital, a Hong Kong based investment fund for two years, building financial models to analyze Chinese companies listed on the NASDAQ, OTC, Singapore and Hong Kong Stock Exchange. He also interned as summer research analyst at Alibaba.com, the world’s largest on-line B2B marketplace, building a new decision model using mathematical and statistical tools. He looks forward to applying the quantitative finance tools and skills acquired in the MSCF program to the financial services industry. In his spare time, he enjoys music, travelling, playing ping-pong, swimming and watching the NBA. |

Dandan Gong graduated in 2006 from Wuhan University in China, where she earned two Bachelor's degrees Mathematics and Economics. She was a TA for Eric Maskin (2007 Nobel Prize in Economics winner) in Game Theory and she wrote a paper on Asset speculative bubbles which won 1st Place in the University Graduation Essay Competition in China. She also worked at the Industry and Commercial Bank of China R&D group and applied her quantitative knowledge to the evaluation of potential risk on prospective MBS portfolios issuing in China. This summer, Dandan will be working as a summer intern in Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. fixed income division. Upon completing the program, Dandan is looking forward to applying her quantitative skills in fixed income/equity and derivatives trading at an investment bank. During her spare time, Dandan enjoys yoga, jogging and cooking. |
| Algirdas Grybas, originally from Lithuania, joined the MSCF program after completion of his BSc Mathematics studies at Jacobs University in Bremen, Germany. In his Bachelor thesis, Algirdas devised an efficient means of computing boundary conditions for waves traveling in shear flow. Highly interested in finance since high school, Algirdas completed three internships at Deutsche Bank in Frankfurt. during his undergraduate years, working twice in Fixed Income Settlements (ensuring on-time settlements of bonds traded on EuroClear/Clearstream and US domestic markets) and his last in Fixed Income Sales Support. In this capacity, he covered French, Spanish, and Italian markets, working closely with sales people and clients, and followed trades from their initial booking in the Front Office to the final settlement in the Back Office. Algirdas is joining Merrill Lynch for a Global Markets summer internship. Algirdas also graduated from a music school (plays saxophone and piano), established an on-campus start-up which sells groceries, provides printing and related services, and debated in national and international competitions. During his free time, you will often find him on a tennis or basketball court. |
| Jian Han received his Master's degree in math and a minor in economics from The Pennsylvania State University, and his Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Nanjing University in China. Before joining the MSCF program, he worked as a teaching and research assistant at Penn State. Jian conducted research in the area of mathematical economics especially the random matching model in monetary theory. Also he worked on projects related to banking models and financial crisis. Jian joined this program because it would help him use his technical skills to combine them with finance and economics. This summer Jian will join the British Petroleum energy trading research group. Upon graduating from the Tepper School of Business, Jian would like to pursue a quantitative research or structured product position in the financial industry.During his spare time, Jian enjoyed playing soccer, traveling and watching movies. |
| Seungmo Hong graduated with High Honors from Yonsei University in Korea, with a B.A. in Business and Applied Statistics and a minor in Mathematics. When he was an undergrad, he wrote the paper entitled “Valuation of American Barrier Options under Jump-Diffusion Processes: Finite difference methods and Monte Carlo Methods”. Prior to joining MSCF program, he worked in the Equity Derivatives division of Societe Generale in Hong Kong where he did marketing and pricing of exotic equity swaps and, earlier, for a financial risk management consulting firm e-Value in Korea as a consultant. Upon graduation, he wants to pursue his career in the exotic interest rates derivatives trading. |

| Xiaojuan Hu graduated with a BS and Master degree in electrical engineering from the Xian Jiaotong University, China. After graduation Xiaojuan worked for two years as a radio network analyst in China Mobile Communication Corporation. At China Mobile she led a team in maintaining more than 1000 GSM base station systems and 2,500 mobile cells of GSM radio network in Shenzhen, China for more than 7 million customers. Then she worked as a research assistant and teaching assistant in Syracuse University focusing on statistical signal analysis. She joined the MSCF program because of her keen interest in quantitative finance and strong willingness to apply her quantitative background and analytical skills in the financial services industry. Xiaojuan enjoys swimming, movie and wii. |
