wang haojie

Haojie Wang completed a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Wuhan University of Technology in China and a PhD in Engineering focusing on computational analysis and modeling from Louisiana Tech University. Before joining the MSCF program, Haojie worked as a research assistant at Louisiana Tech, conducting research in numerical methods for partial differential equations. Haojie has co-authored six scientific papers on numerical methods on thermal deformation induced by ultrashort pulsed lasers and mathematical models for skin burn injury induced by radiation heating. He considers the MSCF program to be a perfect bridge between the realms of academia and quantitative finance. Haojie would like to join a quantitative group in a financial institution in derivatives valuation or risk management.

Oliver Ian Wee earned his undergraduate degree in Management (Honors Program) with a minor in Finance at the Ateneo de Manila University, Philippines and a Masters degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of the Philippines, where he concentrated his thesis on the measurement of convergence of Barrier Options in the Binomial Tree Models using Asymptotic Expansion. As an undergraduate, Oliver undertook an internship in the Risk Management Department of ING Bank. Having the chance to work with RiskMetrics and other tools used to measure risk, Oliver became deeply interested in the pricing of financial instruments and decided to focus his career in quantitative finance. Lei hopes to pursue a career in quantitative finance in the financial services industry. In his spare time, he enjoys playing tennis, chess and exploring various cuisines.

Gen (Kenneth) Ye earned a BS with honors in Computational Mathematics from Zhejiang University of China. Kenneth was subsequently an MS candidate in Systems Engineering at the University of Virginia. At UVa, he also took various finance courses at the Darden Graduate School of Business and McIntire School of Commerce. Prior to joining the MSCF program, Ken was a summer analyst with Goldman Sachs (China) in the Global Investment Research division, where he was part of Goldman’s global alternative energy coverage team and contributed extensively to the publications of several research reports. Ken considers the MSCF program an excellent leverage of his quantitative background and enthusiasm in the financial market. This summer he will join Goldman Sachs in New York as a sales and trading summer associate where he will rotate on four desks. Ye_Kenneth
