Who Should Request An Interview

Although we welcome the opportunity to interview as many of our prospective students as our schedules permit, not all of our candidates are ready for their admission interview when they make the request. Remember, candidates may have only one interview throughout the application process in a given year. The interview becomes part of your admission file and is an important component of the application. Therefore, in order to make the most out of your interview experience, we ask that you not request an interview until you have completed the following steps:

  1. Reflected on your career progress to date, your future career goals, and how the MBA degree fits into your short and long-term career plans.
  2. Conducted research on our school and MBA program by exploring the website, reading our viewbook, or speaking with current students, alumni, or members of our admissions team.
  3. Have decided that the Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon is a good fit for you and that you plan to apply to our MBA program.

If you have not yet had the chance to research our school and MBA program or if you are unsure that our school is a good fit for you, we encourage you to visit our campus or stop by our table at an MBA Fair in your city that we are attending to learn more about the Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon before requesting an interview.
