Women at the Tepper School

Attracting and advancing women is a priority here at the Tepper School. As part of a select group of schools and corporations, we are working in concert with the Forté Foundation, a consortium of major corporations, top business schools, and influential nonprofit organizations that are dedicated to substantially increasing the number of women in business. Current initiatives include:

• Women and the MBA - annual event for women who are interested in learning more about pursuing their MBA at the Tepper School of Business. This year, our keynote speaker was Elissa Ellis-Sangster, Executive Director of the Forté Foundation.
• Specific Women at Tepper Visit Days in the Spring - visit days specifically geared toward women prospective students.
• Annual Career Lab - event for college-aged women who are interested in learning about business options available to them when they graduate.
• Forté Forums – a multi-city educational and networking series featuring business schools and corporations.
• Forté Fellowships – Monetary support to help defray the cost of an MBA.
• Forté MBA Women's Conference – All MBA women are invited to attend the annual conference to examine the hot issues around women in business leadership.

Beyond the curriculum, the highly active student organizations here at Tepper create many social and professional opportunities. Among our more than 30 student-run organizations is an active Tepper Women in Business club that promotes networking opportunities among students, alumni, faculty, industry professionals, and the National Association of Women MBA’s network.

Additionally, there are plenty of resources here at Tepper to help you adjust and thrive here, including:

• A second year student mentor who will be assigned to you during the summer before you arrive on campus;
• An alumni mentor who is currently working in your target function/industry; and
• A series of ‘Tepper Preppers’ - a mentoring initiative developed by students that pairs second-year MBAs with incoming students to help improve their interviewing and networking skills.
