About the FlexMBA
Carnegie Mellon and the Tepper School have been delivering online MBA distance learning programs for nearly 20 years. We understand the needs of today's working professionals and have leveraged the latest technology tools in combination with our renowned curriculum to create a new blended model that combines online learning with immersive on-site instruction.
Our distance learning program began in 1996 in corporate classrooms for companies seeking our well-known brand of education via a distance learning model. Employees from companies such as Goldman Sachs, United Technologies and Lockheed Martin received their MBA via this online MBA program and have joined the thousands of members of our alumni network. We have launched the Tepper FlexMBA as our next-generation on-site, online MBA and have expanded its availability to qualified students. Our part-time FlexMBA online is designed to provide flexibility for MBA studies as well as an exceptional academic experience that prepares students for leadership roles within global business markets.
The Tepper FlexMBA features three learning formats for a flexible, online / on-site study experience:
- Access Weekends held every two months at Carnegie Mellon locations throughout the U.S.
- Live Online MBA (synchronous) learning - one live evening class once per week, accessible anywhere via the Internet
- Independent Online (asynchronous) - one class worth of recorded material per week (in addition to study and team work), accessible anywhere via the Internet

- Tepper FlexMBA students receive the same academic instruction and coursework as our full-time students, completing the program in 32 months, including 6 Access Weekends per academic year.
