Transfer Information

Students seeking transfer from other universities:

  • The Tepper School Undergraduate Business Administration Program does not accept transfer students from other universities.

Students seeking transfer from other Carnegie Mellon programs:

  • Students interested in transferring to business in Spring 2013 should plan to attend one of the following information sessions. Individual appointments with academic advisors will not be made for students seeking transfer. The transfer information sessions will be held in the Undergraduate Lounge, Tepper 132, on the following dates:
    • Monday, February 18, 2013 at 4:30 p.m.
    • Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at 12:00 p.m.
    • Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at 12:00 p.m.
    • Thursday, February 21, 2013 at 3:00 p.m.
  • Apply
    • Applications for transfer are accepted once each semester (.pdf)
    • Applications for Fall 2013 transfer will be accepted no later than Friday, March 8, 2013 at 3 p.m. (Please turn in your completed application to the Undergraduate Business Office --Tepper Room 139).
    • Applications MUST be submitted with a print-out of student's academic audit.
       
  • Requirements
    • Please refer to our academics section for curriculum requirements. Transfer students do not take Introduction to Business 70-100, but substitute it with an upper-level business elective of their choice.
    • Transfer students should also complete the requirement for Professional Service Project 70-201 within three semesters of their transfer date.
    • Students must not be on probation or suspension in their current college.
    • Students must be enrolled in or have completed 21-256 (or 21-259)
    • Students must have at least a 3.0 QPA
       
  • Policies
    • First-year students cannot apply for transfer until the spring semester.
    • Transfer opportunities beyond the end of the sophomore year are severely limited.
    • Enrollment in undergraduate business administration courses is not restricted to Tepper students. However, transfer acceptance is not contingent upon nor favored by prior enrollment in Business Administration courses.
    • For class of 2012 and beyond: Once admitted, students must complete a business track and a minor.
