Investment Banking Case Competition:
The Undergraduate Investment Club sponsored its first Investment Banking Case Competition on March 30, coordinated by students Priya Bishen and Cyril Philip. Competing teams were charged with valuing two banks both before and after a merge, then offering the best advice to investors. Members of the winning team were: Fei Liu, Anand Bhatia, Melvin Udeh, and Ben Klixbull. (See photos...)

UMO Attends Annual Marketing Conference in New Orleans:
April 3rd-April 5th, a group of Undergraduate Marketing Organization (UMO) members represented Carnegie Mellon at the American Marketing Association's 30th Annual International Collegiate Conference, in New Orleans. The Tepper team was successful in winning three awards in the following categories:
-- First Place for Most Educational Exhibit
-- Outstanding Marketing Week
-- Outstanding Chapter Communications

Study Abroad: Germany
Donta Miller, BSBA 2009, has been accepted as one of the 75 participants in the 2007-2008 Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange for Young Professionals. He was chosen from an applicant pool of over 500 to take part in this unique study and work abroad opportunity. During the yearlong program Donta will study a semester and will have a 5-month internship in a Germany company.

Senior Wine Tasting Reception:
Graduating seniors will celebrate their success at Tepper's annual Wine Tasting Reception on Thursday, May 15, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. in the Tepper lobby. This unique event provides an additional opportunity for graduates to interact with Tepper faculty and say goodbye to friends, while also experiencing an authentic and memorable wine-tasting event designed to model similar occasions students may encounter throughout their careers.

2008 Commencement Weekend, May 17-18:

Carnegie Mellon's 111th commencement ceremony will take place on Sunday, May 18, at 11:00 a.m., with Former Vice President and Nobel Prize Winner Al Gore giving the keynote address. The Tepper School's Business Administration and Economics departments will hold a joint reception and diploma ceremony at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall immediately afterwards. Manoj Singh, CMU 1976, Global Managing Partner, Operations with Deloitte Touch Tohmatsu (DTT), will be keynote speaker. See more commencement details....

Equitrader Trading Competition:
The Undergraduate Finance Association (UFA) and the Undergraduate Investment Club (UIC) join hands to sponsor the Equitrader Trading Competition, starting Friday, April 11 and continuing through Wednesday, April 30. Students learn about the stock market by testing investing strategies without risking personal funds. The competition also prepares students for the intercollegiate trading competition in October, 2008, during which colleges around the United States compete for a $10,000 grand prize.
