Application Process for Tepper Senior Honors Program in Economics

Applications for 2009-2010 AY are due on Friday, April 17, 2009 by 5 p.m.

A. Determine if you are academically eligible to apply for the Tepper Senior Honors Program.

The following three academic conditions must be met in order for a student to be considered elibible for the Honors Program:

  1. Have a primary major or dual degree major in Economics;
  2. Be officially classified as a senior by having completed a minimum of 238 units before  beginning the year long project;
  3. Have a cumulative QPA of at least a 3.50, and QPA of at least a 3.50 in the required courses for either the B.A. in Economics, B.S. in Economics,  B.S. in Economics and Statistics, or B.S. in Economics and Mathematical Sciences;
  4. Successfully have passed Econometrics (73-261) or Modern Regression (36-401);
      

B. Identify a faculty member who is willing to work with you. The only faculty eligible to be advisors are members of the Undergraduate Economics Program or its affiliated faculty.   If you are considering a project that requires a budget (books, copying cost, data sets, experiments, etc), you should create one with your faculty advisor.

C. Meet with the Dr. Goldburg.

D. Apply for a SURG award if you are submitting a budget. If you don't receive an award, you will not be adversely effected.

E. Submit your application (.doc) along with your SURG application (where applicable).

F. The Undergraduate Economics Program will notify students of their acceptance into the program by the end of May 2009.

N.B. All juniors should enroll in the Senior Project (73-497) during Spring Registration. The Undergraduate Economics Program will enroll students into Tepper Senior Honors Program in Economics.
