Economics Student Advisory Committee (E-SAC)

The Undergraduate Economics Program and E-SAC share a common goal which is to foster a sense of identity among students and faculty.  In addition to monthly meetings, E-SAC created and maintains the Peer Mentoring Network, a student-student organization where juniors and seniors mentor freshmen and sophomores.

Statement of Intent: The Economics Student Advisory Council (E-SAC) is a forum open to all students with the purpose of fostering a community within the Economics Program at CMU.

It seeks to do this by:

  1. Liaising between students and administrators in the Economics Program;
  2. Addressing issues in scheduling and course topics (for upper level electives);
  3. Planning social and networking events for faculty and students (open to undergraduate and graduate students);
  4. Connecting students with Economics alumni;
  5. Providing general guidance to students; and
  6. Serving as a launching pad for new organizations within the Economics Program.
