The Undergraduate Economics Program and E-SAC share a common goal which is to foster a sense of identity among students and faculty. In addition to monthly meetings, E-SAC created and maintains the Peer Mentoring Network, a student-student organization where juniors and seniors mentor freshmen and sophomores.
Statement of Intent: The Economics Student Advisory Council (E-SAC) is a forum open to all students with the purpose of fostering a community within the Economics Program at CMU.
It seeks to do this by:
Chair: Olivia Ostrand (Class of 2008)
Peer Mentoring Network Chairs: Daria Maximov (Class of 2009), Chris Polanco (Class of 2009), Vivek Raval (Class of 2009), and Gabriella Somoza (Class of 2009)
The Peer Mentoring Program is a major focus of the E-SAC. This program pairs first and second year students with junior and senior mentors.
